Tom Brady admitted to having some regrets about his Netflix roast, specifically how some jokes impacted his three children. The seven-time Super Bowl champion and former New England Patriots quarterback didn’t specify which jokes, there were some that had to do with his ex-wife, Gisele Bündchen.
Kevin Hart, who hosted the Netflix special, doesn’t believe Brady regretted the entire roast, but that he went about it a bit differently.
“When he says he regretted doing it, I don’t think he’s referring to the it. I think what he’s referring to is saying, ‘I could’ve tapered it a little differently, saying or having a conversation pre of like, ‘Guys, let’s go and do this, but let’s not touch this or this,’” Hart told Bleacher Report’s Taylor Rooks. “The idea of going all in and saying, ‘(Expletive) it, I don’t care cause I know the world would love to see me on the receiving end of (expletive) because I’m Tom Brady and I’ve been at the highest stage all my life.’”
Hart, who has two kids of his own, added that he can see where Brady is coming from and “wanting to protect the idea of family and the conversation attached to that.”
The roast featured others hearing jokes about themselves with nothing seeming to be off limits. Brady stepped in once after Jeff Ross made a joke about Patriots owner Robert Kraft.
Brady admitted he had no issues when the jokes were about him, but added he wouldn’t do something like that again due to how it affected his children.
